Jessica Alba loves to Wii

Wii_remote_funtions_2x2

Those long sharp lines, the fabulous curves, the ease at which one plays.. and we're just talking about the Wii here! Were we to dwell on Jessica Alba, the woman most voted best body 2006 and who's been squeezed into the sexy Fantastic Four outfit, we'd have to say that her curves rival that of the machine and that we envy her tanned toned limbs and perfect pout. But fear not; rather than resorting to faddy macrobiotic diets and personal trainers our Jess likes to keep fit by a Wii workout, a console we can all afford.

The Nintendo Wii sports game lets you play tennis, golf and boxing in the comfort of your living room, using the controller to move around, it's a very physical experience, quite unlike the sedentary style living that computer games are usually associated with. You can burn around 560 an hour having at large at boxing and there is a new game called Wii Fit available soon, which acts as a virtual personal trainer.

'I just got the Wii and that's fun' says Alba. 'I play all of the Wii Sports games, like bowling, tennis, and baseball. That's a lot of fun.' Well if it's good enough for her...

Street Fighter II

Chun-Li
Street Fighter II: The World Warrior is the game that started it all, the fighting game that begat 2D fighting games as we know them and the launching pad for one of the greatest franchises in gaming history. Now it's available for the Wii's Virtual Console--the 1992 Super Nintendo Entertainment System port of it, that is, not the arcade original. Still, as arcade ports went in those days, the SNES port of SF II was excellent all around. The visuals were scaled back a bit, and the audio wasn't quite the same as in the arcade version, but the fantastic fighting translated remarkably well to the old SNES controller, and it still holds up well today as a downloadable Wii game.

For newbies, Street Fighter II can be an overwhelming experience. There’s a subtle poetry to Street Fighter games that can take awhile to pick up and understand. You don’t want your boo all frustrated on Cupid Day, for the wrong reasons.

If you do have a game savvy partner, then Street Fighter brings a competitive edge that few other titles can muster. First, the direct one-on-one competition creates a spark that can really build the adrenaline and get the blood flowing

Wii Nunchuck

The Wii Nunchuk controller is a secondary controller that adds even more innovation to the next generation of gaming, and does it all with less physical movement.

Used in conjunction with the standard Wii remote, certain games need the Nunchuk controller for additional control options. Contoured perfectly to fit a player's hand, the Nunchuk controller builds on the simplicity of the Wii Remote controller. The Nunchuk contains the same three-axis motion sensor found in the Wii Remote, but also includes an analog stick, and two buttons to help assist in character movement.

Many games will allow you to control your character's movement with the Nunchuk in your left hand, while your right hand is free to execute the action movements with the Wii Remote. For example, the Nunchuk is particularly useful for games like Wii Boxing. You can use the Nunchuk to punch with your weaker hand, while you use the Wii remote to punch and jab with your predominant hand.

In first-person shooters, the Nunchuk controller carries the burden of movement, freeing you to aim and fire using a more natural motion with the Wii Remote. In a football game, you can make your quarterback elusive with the Nunchuk controller while you search for an open receiver to throw to using the Wii Remote. Serious gamers may even want to use two Nunchuk controllers to gain a fierce competitive edge.

Because the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers are only relatively dependent on each other, players are free to hold them in whichever hand is most comfortable. Perfectly suitable for either right or left-hand use, the Wii Nunchuk controller grants accessibility not often seen in previous game controllers.

Also, the Nunchuk controller doesn't need its own power--it plugs into the Wii Remote controller when it's in use. So there's no need to worry about charging or replacing expensive batteries.

Adding a Nunchuk to your Wii system will definitely help you open the doors to the next level of gaming, and seriously step up performance. Just be careful not to knock out your significant other, or bruise the dog, severely, while using one, or two Nunchuk controllers.

How to Use FreeLoader on Wii

FreeLoader for the Nintendo Wii allows gamers to play Wii games made for other regions besides their own. This can expand your choices by hundreds of games. It does not void any warranty that you may have on your Wii, because you don't have to modify any hardware on your Nintendo Wii console. FreeLoader will not work with firmware 3.0.

Instructions

Step1
Be aware that FreeLoader is not a licensed program and if it causes any problems with the Wii, Nintendo does not support your troubles.

Step2
Use your GameCube version of FreeLoader if you already have one purchased. The Wii has the capabilities to read GameCube games since they are both Nintendo consoles.

Step3
Buy Action Replay for the GameCube, if you don't already have a version of FreeLoader. Action Replay has cheats and it includes FreeLoader, giving you 2 products for the price of 1. Action Replay gives you extra help and lives so that you can further into your games.

Step4
Load the FreeLoader in your Wii and follow the on-screen prompts. Then load your out-of-region game to the Wii. You may have to guess directions and prompts, as they will be in different languages. Most can be figured out with the animation on the screen.

Step5
Use caution when updating your firmware on your older Nintendo Wii. There are certain firmware updates (including 3.0) that disable FreeLoader from working. It is said to be a coincidence, but since FreeLoader is not a officially licensed product it does not have to make a work-around or fix.

Using Nintendo Wii in Therapy

The Nintendo Wii video game system has many potential uses in therapy practice. The Wii is able to blend exercise and physical activity with video games. The Nintendo Wii has a different controller/remote than other gaming systems. The remote is wireless and can detect acceleration and orientation in three dimensions. The Wii Fit attachment is available for balance activities, weight bearing, and some games.

Games for the Wii include a hula hoop game, requiring the person to use hip motion to keep the hula hoop moving, a tightrope game for balance and to narrow the base of support, Ski Slalom, Ski jump and a jogging game for a cardiovascular workout. Other games, such as tennis, boxing, baseball and bowling emphasize upper extremity use, coordination, timing, and shifting weight between lower extremities. Each game can be used in a variety of ways to address treatment goals. Additionally, the system can track body mass index (BMI), weight and time spent playing.

It also allows the player to set goals, such as weight loss goals and encourages the player to play again. The Wii can be adjusted for skill level, starting at basic actions and slower timing. In addition to the physical benefits discussed above, reported benefits to using the Wii in therapy sessions include an increase in patient compliance, anticipation for the next treatment session, and a boost in pediatric patients’ socialization and self-esteem.

Safety could be a concern with using this device. Gait belts are encouraged for patients with balance problems. Additionally, an evaluation including cardiovascular and pulmonary tests should be completed to ensure the patient is physically fit to play the games. The Wii is contraindicated in patients with seizure disorders.

How to buy a cheap Nintendo Wii

By Katie Watson

Once our neighbors in our small town development got a Wii, we ALL wanted a Wii! Everyone went on a Wii search! I looked on every website, in every store, they were impossible to find! Let my tips help you find a lower priced Wii.
Step1
Call and check at your local retail stores (target, walmart, costco, circuit city, best buy, sams club) to see if they have any in stock. bulk retailers like costco or sams club will usually bundle the console with extra games or controllers!
Step2
check the cheap wii websites or wii finder websites on google or from my links blow. These sites are updated frequently and will tell you who has a Wii in stock and how much they are. I found a store that sell nintendo's products in low prices check this site
Step3
check our auction sites like ebay and amazon for a used wii. Typically if anything is wrong with it, the wii is still new enough that it should be covered under the manufacturers warranty still, so you shouldn't have to worry about buying used.
Step4
Go on craigslist! Watch that site like a hawk! Check every hour or so to see if anyone is selling theirs! On ebay they were all over $400 and we got ours from someone who listed it on craigslist for $280. That came with an extra controller, wii sports and a zelda game! at the time it was the best deal possible! And it came with the box and all manuals and paperwork! It hasn't had a single problem!

Tips & Warnings

  • When you find a good site, make sure you check it frequently! Good deals go fast!
  • Don't be shy, if you see a phone number on an ad call! If it only has an email address send an email with your number in it!
  • Watch for scams on craigslist!
  • Never send a money order or cash or check to a person from craigslist, only meet in person and check the item before you pay for it.

Wii Fitness

Nintendo Wii Fitness has more than forty exercises and activities. Wii Fit is fun for the whole family and a great way to workout and get into shape together. Activities include aerobics, yoga, strength training, and balance games.

You can track your progress doing workouts daily. Make a personal profile, test your balance, and set goals for yourself. Your (BMI) is your body mass index which can be checked with your Wii Fit age to keep track of your progress.

Wii Fit is a good alternative for those who don't like going to a gym everyday, or too self conscious to join. The Wii exercises are focused ore on muscle tone and balance instead of cardio and weight loss, therefore it is not a total solution for fitness. It is however a good beginning to later doing more strenuous exercises.

Only one Wii Fit age can be recorded daily. This is done by inputting a date of birth and height. Then stand on the balance board for a weigh in. From this a BMI is calculated showing if you are underweight, ideal, or overweight. Then a simple balance test is done which gives the Wii Fit age for the day. This info should not be taken completely seriously, only a doctor can tell you if you are healthy or not. After all two people might be the same weight, one of them muscular and the other mostly fat. The Wii would give them the same score when we all realize that the one with more muscle is probably the healthier.

CATEGORIES

There are four main categories: Aerobics, Strength Training, Yoga, and Balance Games. As you get better in each category, more exercises will become available. There is also a favorites category which is the exercises you do most.

Aerobics: The different aerobic exercises are Basic Step, Basic Run, Hula Hoop, Super Hula Hoop, Advanced Step, 2P Run, Free Step, Free Run, and Rhythm Boxing. Aerobics and Balance Games are probably the more fun of the challenges.

Strength Training: The different Strength Training exercises are Arm and Leg Lift, Single Leg Extension, Sideways Leg Lift, Torso Twist, Single Arm Stand, Lunge, single Leg Twist, Rowing Squat, Push-Up and Side Plank, Plank and Tricep, Extension, Jackknife Challenge, Push-up Challenge. These begin with easy basic lunges and go to more strenuous parallel stretch push-ups.

Yoga: The different Yoga exercises are Half Moon, Cobra, Deep Breathing, Bridge, Shoulder Stand, Tree, Spinal Twist, Warrior, Sun Salutation, Palm Tree, Standing Knee, Triangle, Downward Facing Dog, and Chair. Yoga exercises range from extremely simple like standing still and breathing to the quite difficult shoulder stand.

Balance Games: The different Balance Games are Ski Slalom, Table Tilt, Soccer Heading, Ski Jump, Tightrope Walk, Penguin Slide, Snowboard Slalom, Lotus Focus, and Balance Bubble. Most casual users gravitate towards the balance games. These are some of the more fun Wii Fit challenges.

PRODUCT FEATURES

1. Wii Fit combines fitness and fun and is designed for everyone ole and young.

Wii Tips & Secrets!

1. Hold a and b down and you can move the windows on the main menu around.

2. Press the home button on the main menu. Next click on the controller image. You can adjust the wii-mote volume and rumble functions.

3. Want your plain-looking Wii to have some style? Add a blue light around you CD drive anytime the console is on by doing the following:

Go to your email from the home menu, and add your personal computer email address to your address book. Wait ~1 hour for the email (mine took at least this long) Reply to the email from your computer. In a few minutes, you will have an email waiting for you on your Wii. Don't read it! As long as it remains new, you have a pretty blue light!

4. In order to add someone to your friend's list you BOTH have to enter each other's Number ID and Console Nickname to be able to send messages and Mii's.

5. In wii sports bowling, you can release on the back swing and throw the ball backwards. It scares all the miis behind you.

6. Email A Wii: You can email any Wii that you know the Friend code for. The Email address will be w(Wii Number here)@wii.com. For Example: w123456789012@wii.com

7. Get rid of Generic Teammates/Spectators: The Wii will automatically use the other Miis in your Plaza as teammates and spectators in certain Wii sports games. Create friends and family, and you can get rid of the generic Miis.

8. Register and Extend Warranty: Register your Console on Nintendo.com, get a free 90 day extension to your warranty.

9. Get Free Nintendo Power: Register 3 Nintendo products on Nintendo.com, and get 3 months of Nintendo Power free.

10. Extra Parts: There are two parts to the Wii in your box that you may either not find, or never know what they are. The first is a Clear Disc piece. This piece fits under your Wii stand to Stabalize it's balance. The second is a Small(1" - 1.5") plastic Piece. This piece is the stand for the Sensor bar. It puts some disntance between your TV and the bar. In theory, that should give you a better angle reception.

11. Get Miis in your parade: Setting your Miis to Mingle, and having your friends do the same thing will soon have Miis walking around in your parade. Your friends' Miis will wonder over to your console and parade around, so long as they are set to Mingle. You can then grab them and send them to your Plaza so you have a copy.

12. In Zelda, the direction Link spins when doing a spin attack depends on which way you spin your nunchuck.

13. In Wii Sports Bowling, when you press up on the Directional Pad, it will zoom in on the lane. The zoom in sound is the exact same sound from Super Mario 64 anytime you moved the camera.

14. If you go to the Channel section in your menu you can choose to save VC games on a SD card.

15. In LOZ:TP if you keep it at the start screen for an extended period of time, it plays an extremely extended trailer that they didn't show to the general public.

16. On hole 3 of Wii Sports Golf, there is a small section of fairway at about a 45 degree angle to the left from the tee box. It is a small patch surrounded by Out Of Bound-ness. If you can land your ball on there, you can easily make it on the green in 2, to to Eagle the course.

17. Wii Video 9 - Wii Video Converter

Wii Video 9 is a free video conversion application developed by Red Kawa. It allows you to convert your computer video files (like avi, divx, mpeg, etc.) into the specific video formats that are playable on the Wii.

Wii Video 9 can also be combined with Videora, another software application, and together they can let you automatically download and convert video for your Wii using BitTorrent and RSS technology.

18. You can send links to websites directly to people in your address book by opening your favourites then clicking on the envelope icon

19. While your Wii is powered down you can press any button on your Wiimote and lights will flash. The number of lights flashing is the amount of charge left in your battery (1 is least charge, 4 is most charge).

20. In Wii Bowling, if you aim right to any lane near you, you can throw your ball there, but you won't hit any pins unless you aim right.

21. Zelda. You can skip cutscenes in Zelda by hitting the - button. You must have at least seen the cutscene once, however.

29. When you’re in the Mii channel and you don’t use the Wiimote for a little bit and your Mii’s start walking around, if you then suddenly use the Wiimote, all the Mii stop and follow the ‘hand’ for about 3 seconds.

30. If you hold the SYNC button down on the Wii for 15 seconds, it will clear all synced Wii Remotes from the console.

31. Hold the B button and point to the direction you want to go in the Mii channel and you can scroll around the screen. You can see all the Miis without arranging them.

32. Press down on the control pad while watching a video to change the voices, if you change the mood on a video the sounds will be affected too.

33. With Wii forecast, you can rotate the globe on a different axis by turning/twisting the remote.

34. If the weather shows rain when you check it, you will hear the sound of rain and the same for thunder.

In the globe view in the weather forecast channel, if you grab the world and give it a quick flick the world will go spinning (it works better if you zoom out with the - button) you can only really spin it east or west cause it gets stuck on the poles. This has no real value unless you wanted to choose some random city in the world.

40. If you're winning in Wii Sports Baseball by 4 or 5 points, the pitcher on the other team will start sweating.

41. On the Beta Version of Opera, there are two files. One is in the Wii channel for the browser itself. The other is in the same area as game saves. If you delete the file, it clears the cache and cookies resulting in keeping the experience snappy.

42. When viewing photos in the photo channel, press B to create a pixilated circle for censoring The size of the circle depends on how close your remote is to the TV.

43. Wii Tennis: When you get to the screen (in 1 player) where there is a picture of 2 yous and 2 "?" press on them and they will change between "?" and you so you can play against yourself or just watch a match.

44. In bowling when the bowling game is loading you can press different directions on the D-pad to change the color of your ball.

45. In Wii boxing you can have your character do poses by moving your hands around. Example, put both hands up in the air as if you just won a victory.

46. In Wii Play: On the game selection screen poke your Mii's arms, legs, face and torso with the (A) button and see what happens...

47. In Wii Play, leave the main game select title page on and do nothing. After a while you character Mii's will fall asleep and the music will change to a more nite nite twinkley sound.

48. In tennis, hold the two button during the warning screen right until the positions screen loads up for a blue court (the one from training).

50. Press 2 while pitching in Wii Sports Baseball and you'll pitch side-armed.

51. When loading the News Channel grab the cat that appears at the top of the loading screen to get some tips.

52. If you click on the loading cats on the news channel each one will make a different pitched noice a bit like a miaow. They act as a kind of keyboard.

53. To Make Your Mii's Pants Red... Select Them As A "Favorite"
To Make Them Blue, You Must Send The Mii To someone, and Have Them Send It Back To You.

54. Go to wiiminder whilst on the opera browser to have tabbed wii browsing

55. In the boxing, if you dodge a punch it will do a slow motion type sound and the screen will blurr a bit. If you quickly hit your opponent when this happens it will do a special punch that hits really hard.

Download Games For Wii Nintendo

The Nintendo Wii has definitely made its mark in home video gaming. Coming to two years after its launch, the consoles continue to be going great guns. Unlike in the past when Wii games had always been lackluster compared to the consoles, newer Games for Wii are starting to match up to the consoles in terms of demand. Fortunately, there's no shortage fiasco on the card for games because there are feasible alternatives.

The Games for Wii was never a Nintendo forte. It was always more of the way the games were played than the essence of the games itself. Of late though, new releases of Wii games such as Wii Fit, Blast Works, We Ski and so forth are looking like the Wii is finally coming into its own in that area too. Then again, there are also signs that it's headed for another case of stock-out propensity.

If there was any lessons learnt from the launch of the consoles, top on the list should be the supple issues. It's not only damaging for Nintendo in missed opportunities, it's also very frustrating and wasteful for the Wii gamers. The driving around town for that new disc that has run short of supply wastes petrol, time and efforts among other things. That hard-gotten machine is but only a white-elephant without the games.

The premium pricing of Wii video games does not help things either. The cost of the games adds up quickly as more and more of them are churned out and it doesn't look like the price of the games is coming down anytime soon. Instead of improving the affordability of the pastime with the increased volume, some of the new games actually require the purchase of add-ons and accessories such as the Balance Board in the Wii Fit package.

As a result, Wii gamers are resorting to other means to load their machines. Wii game rentals have caught on to some degree. Popular games for other consoles are also being converted through re-formatting to be playable on Wii machines, independent 3rd-party game developers and publishers have joined in the fray but by far the most popular solution to the affordability and availability problems is the Wii membership download service.

Games Download Service sites are found all over the shop on the net. Free unlimited lifetime download for a one-time joining fee seems to be the most popular type of package. The fee is typically around the standard price of a single physical game disc. There's really no comparison in price as they are effectively endless free Wii games for members and being downloaded online, they're also theoretically never out-of-stock.

Lastly, watch out for scams and pretenders in picking the right download service provider. Unless you're a multi-console gamer, choose from the pool of exclusive Wii providers as they tend to be more specialized. Other free Wii media like music, movies and TV shows must be included, along with software, tools and accessories at no charge and backed by 24/7 support and full refund guarantee.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

It's hard to believe, but it's been nine years since the original Super Smash Bros. brought some of the most iconic Nintendo characters together for frantic battles, and roughly seven years since its sequel Super Smash Bros. Melee was released. Perhaps even harder still to believe--and a testament to the series' popularity and longevity--is that these games are still being played religiously to this day. But no matter whether you're a diehard Smash Bros. fanatic or a neophyte brawler, you'll be pleased to know that Super Smash Bros. Brawl includes a plethora of impressive characters, features, and game modes, and is more accessible and fun than ever before.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl BUY NOW

For the uninitiated, Smash Bros. is a multiplayer-centric series of fast-paced 2D fighting games that features a cast of characters from all over the Nintendo universe. If you've ever found yourself arguing with a friend about whether or not Mario could beat Link in a one-on-one match, Brawl is the game that will let you settle the issue once and for all (the answer of course is that Kirby would eat them both). Characters such as Ike from Fire Emblem, Meta Knight from Kirby, Fox McCloud from Star Fox, Lucas from the unreleased-in-the-US Mother 3 (Earthbound 2), Pikachu from Pokémon, and many more are all on the roster in Brawl, boosting its size up to an impressive 35 total characters--14 of which are hidden and must be unlocked. For the first time, the list of guests includes third-party, non-Nintendo characters such as Solid Snake and Sonic the Hedgehog, and all of them bring their own signature fighting styles and moves to the game. Guitar Hero World Tour Review

As soon as Rock Band let you play guitar, bass, drums, and sing to your favorite music, it was clear the bar had been raised in the music-game genre. It wasn't long before Activision announced that the Guitar Hero series would follow suit. The result is a very entertaining game that doesn't break a whole lot of new ground. Guitar Hero World Tour's in-game music creation feature isn't as revolutionary as it could have been due to its convoluted interface, but thanks to a huge setlist of recognizable hits and cant-miss gameplay, World Tour is a great game and certainly a huge step forward for the franchise.

The most obvious difference between World Tour and previous Guitar Hero games is that you can now sing and play drums in addition to performing the traditional guitar and bass parts. You can play one instrument alone, perform as a band with a few friends, or even hop online and rock head-to-head or as some sort of Internet supergroup. The long-awaited ability to play as a "real" band in a Guitar Hero game improves what was previously an experience shared by one or two people on guitar and bass. Bickering over setlists; swapping instruments midset; getting sweaty and stinky from jumping around in a small room while your friend with the terrible voice gives it his or her all in "Livin' on a Prayer" as your neighbors bang on the wall...that's when Guitar Hero World Tour is at its best.

GH World Tour is available as an instrument bundle or as a standalone disc. If you don't buy the bundle, you can use guitars from previous Guitar Hero games. Wii owners get the short end of the stick when it comes to the cost of hardware--it costs just as much as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, but you have to own four Wii Remotes if you're to play as a full band (remotes are placed into the instruments). Not only is the hardware expensive, its reliability is questionable given the less-than-stellar performance of the World Tour hardware over a week-and-a-half of play. The drums have several issues: Cymbals are either too sensitive or not sensitive enough, and the bass pedal is inconsistent as well. That's nothing compared to the problems that we've had with the guitars. The fret buttons began to stick after a day, and it wasn't long before the strum bar failed to accurately recognize input. The frets held up better on our second guitar, but the strum bar quickly failed on it as well. One nice thing about that guitar is that you can activate star power either by tilting your instrument or by simply pressing a new button below the strum bar with the palm of your hand. Just be careful not to press the poorly placed pause button while you're at it.

The big new feature in Guitar Hero World Tour is the music studio. It lets you create and share your own tunes, as well as download songs from others. Should you watch all of the tutorials and put in the time to learn the complicated yet robust program, you'll be able to produce some amazing results. The bad news is that you have to put in a lot of time and effort because it's incredibly difficult to make music creation a user-friendly experience on a console, but it's near impossible if you force people to use a fake guitar. To make matters worse, there's no way to add vocals or lyrics to your creations, so it's quite possible your song will sound just like the hundreds of thousands of bad MIDI songs that permeate the Web. That said, if you're unable to channel your inner John Lennon, you can still enjoy the fruits of the music studio via other people's work. Just a week after the game's release, there are already a number of impressive user-created efforts available for download. read more here
