Wii Fitness

Nintendo Wii Fitness has more than forty exercises and activities. Wii Fit is fun for the whole family and a great way to workout and get into shape together. Activities include aerobics, yoga, strength training, and balance games.

You can track your progress doing workouts daily. Make a personal profile, test your balance, and set goals for yourself. Your (BMI) is your body mass index which can be checked with your Wii Fit age to keep track of your progress.

Wii Fit is a good alternative for those who don't like going to a gym everyday, or too self conscious to join. The Wii exercises are focused ore on muscle tone and balance instead of cardio and weight loss, therefore it is not a total solution for fitness. It is however a good beginning to later doing more strenuous exercises.

Only one Wii Fit age can be recorded daily. This is done by inputting a date of birth and height. Then stand on the balance board for a weigh in. From this a BMI is calculated showing if you are underweight, ideal, or overweight. Then a simple balance test is done which gives the Wii Fit age for the day. This info should not be taken completely seriously, only a doctor can tell you if you are healthy or not. After all two people might be the same weight, one of them muscular and the other mostly fat. The Wii would give them the same score when we all realize that the one with more muscle is probably the healthier.

CATEGORIES

There are four main categories: Aerobics, Strength Training, Yoga, and Balance Games. As you get better in each category, more exercises will become available. There is also a favorites category which is the exercises you do most.
